Yes, we are continuously looking for highly qualified applicants.

Yes, officers must live within a 60-mile radius or 2 hours from the police department.

Officers are eligible after one year of probation. Officers must live within 50-miles of the police department. There are additional requirements for officers residing outside of Pinellas County but within the 50 miles.

Days: 8-hour shifts
5 days on and 2 days off
Evenings: 10-hour shifts
4 days on and 3 days off
Midnights: 10-hour shifts
4 days on and 3 days off
* Days off will rotate. Shift differential is paid on evening and midnight shifts.

Reserve and retired military may apply at any time. Active duty military should time their application to begin approximately 2 to 3 months before their separation date. You may be eligible for your GI Bill while attending the academy and receive additional income. Click for more information about the GI Bill

Tattoos on the hands, face, neck, and scalp are prohibited.

Beards are not permitted to be worn by any personnel wearing a department uniform.
