SPPD Detectives have located the vehicle involved in a fatal hit and run last Sunday, but still need help identifying the driver.
Hollis Heatherly (DOB 10/06/1962) was hit and killed while crossing 1st Ave. N at 16th St. N. around 9:30pm (on October 3, 2021), by a small black sports car with damage to the left front and left side.

St. Petersburg Police traffic investigators are searching for the driver and vehicle involved in a deadly hit and run at the intersection of 1st Ave. N. and 16th St. N. Sunday night.
About 9:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 3, 2021, a pedestrian attempting to cross 1st Ave. N. in the crosswalk was hit and killed by a westbound vehicle. The driver of the vehicle did not stop.
The pedestrian, Hollis Heatherley, was pronounced dead on scene.
Investigators are looking for a small black sports car with damage to the left front and left side.

Brief Description of Incident:
A pedestrian (Hollis Heatherley, W/M, 58 years old) was crossing the roadway, in the crosswalk. An unknown black vehicle, traveling westbound on 1st Avenue North, struck the pedestrian, throwing the pedestrian to the ground. The driver then left the scene of the crash. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene. There is damage to the vehicle. The vehicle has not been located. At this time, the investigation is still ongoing. The roadway was closed during the investigation and was re-opened. Anyone who has any information, please contact the traffic section and reference this crash.
