Uniform Services Bureau - Overview

The Uniformed Services Bureau is under the command of Assistant Chief of Police Luke Williams.

The bureau provides direct police services to the community, including response by uniformed officers to calls for police service; works to identify and develop solutions to police-related community problems; organized as follows:

The Uniform Services Bureau provides police services 24 hours a day, responding to 911 emergencies, investigating crimes, crashes and much more. Embracing a community policing philosophy, all members of the bureau work with the community to prevent crime and resolve neighborhood issues. Commanded by an Assistant Chief of Police, the bureau represents 49% of the department's personnel.

The police department fleet is made up of 645 total vehicles, of which 60% are marked and 40% are unmarked. They are:

  • 378 marked fleet vehicles ((includes motorcycles, forensics vans, Road Patrol SUV's in addition to police cruisers)
  • 21 marked Ingersoll-Rand All-Terrain vehicles
  • 16 vans
  • 3 boats
  • 4 pick-up trucks
  • 39 unmarked police units
  • 79 sedans for administration and detectives
  • 35 leased vehicles for undercover work
  • 1 mobile community resource center
  • 25 sport utility vehicles; 4 marked and 21 unmarked (included leased vehicles)
  • 5 volunteer road patrol SUV's
  • 1 mobile forensics laboratory
  • 1 2 – ½ ton International Harvester conversion truck for the TAC Team
  • 4 motorcycles
  • 12 police package Chevrolet Tahoe's (K-9)
  • 219 marked take home cars
  • 4 personal watercraft (Sea Doos)
