The St. Petersburg Police Department, along with the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, Pinellas Park Police Department, Gulfport Police Department, and St. Petersburg College are hosting the 2018 Law Enforcement Explorer Academy, an exciting and educational two-week experience for the youth in Pinellas County. The academy offers youth insight into how law enforcement performs their duties and how law enforcement serves the community
Week 1: May 30 - June 1
Week 2: June 5 - June 8
Time: 8:30am - 4:30pm
Graduation: June 8th, 3:00pm-4:30pm
Location: St. Petersburg College – Allstate Center 3200 34th Street South, St. Petersburg
*Shuttles can be provided from different areas in Pinellas County.
*T-shirt will be provided on Graduation Day.
*Only 35 seats available
*An officer will be in contact to confirm applicant’s position

Exploring gives you the chance to work directly with police officers, go on ride-alongs, receive police training, meet new friends, and feel good about helping out in your community. The program is part of the Boy Scouts of America - Learning for Life and sponsored by the St. Petersburg Police Department.
Young adults, male and female, are encouraged to join. You must meet these criteria:
Join us at one of our Monday night meetings 6:00 pm-8:30 pm. We will give you an informational packet on your first night. Contact Officer Janie Staples for a location.
An applicant must attend four consecutive Monday night meetings. At the fourth meeting, the applicant will receive an oral interview board and their peers, along with the Explorer Post Advisor will decide acceptance.
