Today at 6:30 AM officers were called to the scene of a fatal crash in the alley near 17 3rd Street North.

A City garbage truck struck a 49 year old woman who was lying across the alley.

The victim was fatally injured at the scene. Her name will be released when next of kin is located and notified.

The driver did not stop.

The driver, a City of St. Petersburg employee, Nathan Brown (53), was charged with leaving the scene of a crash involving death.

The crash is under investigation.
