UPDATE: Additional Arrests in Teen Fatal Shooting

St. Petersburg Police Detectives arrested the final two suspects wanted for the shooting death of 14- year-old Gaige Santos-Brown on Friday, May 23rd.

The homicide occurred just after 6:30 p.m. in the 4200 block of 15th Avenue South. Santos-Brown arranged to meet three teens. During their meeting, there was an altercation, and he was shot. He was transported to the hospital, where he died of his injuries.

Today detectives arrested:

  • De'Antae Blunt - charged with felony murder
  • Vonaj Wright - charged with felony murder

Saturday, detectives arrested Kenneth Washington and charged him with Felony Murder and Violation of Supervised Release.

All parties involved have now been arrested.

Summary:
Just after 6:30 pm in the 4200 block of 15th Avenue South, 14-year-old Gaige Santos-Brown (14) was approached by three teens. Shots were fired, critically injuring Santos-Brown. He was transported to the hospital, where he died of his injuries.

Detectives identified Kenneth Washington (16) as one of the suspects, and he was arrested overnight. Washington was charged with Felony Murder and Violation of Supervised Release (Photo below).

St. Petersburg Police are at the scene of a shooting that occurred just after 6:30 pm in the 4200 block of 15th Avenue South.

One victim was transported to Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital.

Detectives are investigating.
