St. Petersburg police is on the scene of a barricaded man at 10200 Gandy Blvd N. at the Vantage Point Apartments.

He called threats into our Police Communications Center and has made threatening statements on social media.

Negotiators have been in talks with the man.

At this time we ask that media not enter the complex and remain in the public spaces on the sidewalk around the outside of the gates.

I'll release more information as details become available.
