Today at 10 a.m., police responded to a call at Lassing Park, 2042 Beach Dr S.E., about an unresponsive woman wearing a bathing suit found floating in the water close to shore.

Fire Rescue arrived and confirmed the 31-year-old woman was deceased. A paddleboard was found nearby and other items were found onshore.

Through the investigation, detectives identified her and confirmed she had been paddleboarding.

At this time, the death does not appear suspicious, but the Pinellas Medical Examiner will confirm the cause of death.

The woman's name will be released once her next of kin is notified.
