Arrest in Homicide on Emerson Avenue South

Suspect: Jamal Black

Charges: Murder in the 2nd degree and four counts of violation of felony probation

Detectives arrested 20-year-old Jamal Black, for the homicide of 21-year-old Tyrone Howard on September 7th, 2025.

On that day, shortly after 2 p.m., a vehicle crashed into a parked car at Robco Transmission and Auto, 3101 Emerson Avenue South.

When rescue arrived, it was determined that the driver, Tyrone Howard, suffered a gunshot wound near the 2900 block of Emerson Avenue South. Howard was transported to Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital, where he died of his injuries.

A child, a one-year-old girl, who was also in the car, was not injured.
