Officers responded to the 2200 block of 14th Avenue North at 4:42 p.m. on Wednesday, January 30, for several calls of shots heard in the area.
Investigators determined that two men approached another man as he was getting out of his vehicle. They fired several shots at him and then ran back to their car, a black Nissan Altima with no tag, and drove away. Bullets hit the victim's car but did not injure anyone.
Officers spotted the fleeing Altima and attempted a traffic stop. The car didn't stop and a pursuit was authorized. The Altima eventually stopped at 5th Avenue North and 40th Street North and two men got out and ran from the car, but a K9 team quickly arrested them.
Officers found an assault rifle in the backseat and found a handgun nearby.
The suspects and the victim are known to each other and had been in a dispute.
