Command Review Board Convened

Release posted on 01-28-25 at 2:01 PM

Chief Anthony Holloway convened a Command Review Board to review allegations that Officer John Antoine made a verbal threat to his former spouse and failed to properly report a change of address.

Summary:
On August 27th, 2024, Pinellas Park Police Officers arrested St. Petersburg Police Officer John Antoine on one count of aggravated assault (domestic-related). On that evening, Officer Antoine had a verbal argument with his former domestic partner, outside her home in Pinellas Park. She alleged he made a threatening comment to her, while in full uniform and armed.

During the investigation, Officer Antoine was placed on administrative leave with no pay for two months.

On October 23, 2024 the 6th Judicial Circuit Court concluded that the facts and circumstances did not warrant prosecution against Officer Antoine.

However, the Command Review Board determined he violated City of St. Petersburg Rules and Regulations for employees:

He was suspended for an additional 150 hours without pay. Also, he will not have the use of a police take-home vehicle for 18 months and he must attend mandatory counseling.

Antoine was sworn in as a St. Petersburg Police Officer on 10/02/2017.
