Upgraded Charges in Fatal Crash Involving a Pedestrian - Dali Blvd SE
Michael Aoun was arrested in Michigan for violation of pre-trial release.
He was brought back to Pinellas County where he is facing upgradedd charges of:

Delayed Traffic Fatality
Paul Miller , a pedestrian struck on Dali Boulevard near Bayshore Drive Southeast the night of Jan. 22, has died due to his injuries.
Doctors pronounced Miller's death occurred at 3:18 a.m. today, Jan. 28, at Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital in St. Petersburg.
Miller was struck shortly after 8 p.m. Jan. 22 by a Chrysler minivan driven by 34-year-old Michael Aoun. At the time of the crash, Miller was working on the side of the road.
Aoun remained on scene and was later arrested on charges of driving under the influence and reckless driving causing serious bodily injury.
The investigation remains open and active. Additional charges are pending.

Additional details:
The driver of a Chrysler minivan was traveling at a high rate of speed on Dali Blvd from First Street South. As he approached Bayshore Dr. SE, he lost control of the van and crossed into two bicycle lanes. He struck a statue, a light pole, and a pedestrian.
The victim, a 37-year-old man, was working in the median lane putting down flags for a Grand Prix monument. He was transported to Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital and remains in critical condition.

During the investigation, traffic investigators determined Auon was under the influence and arrested him for the following:

Shortly after 8 p.m., a vehicle driving on Dali Blvd SE struck a pedestrian.
The pedestrian, a man, was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. He is in stable but critical condition.
The driver remained on scene for the investigation.
