Shooting Investigation Near 1400 15th St South

St. Petersburg Detectives arrested Antwon Jones, DOB 5-22-2006, for shooting two people in the 1400 block of 15th Street South on February 11, 2025.

Investigators believe there was a conflict between two groups on the street. At about 7 p.m., Jones fired shots at the other group but the bullets struck two bystanders. The bystanders, a 40-year-old man and his 10-year-old nephew were outside playing basketball.

The child was seriously injured, but this morning he is in stable condition. The uncle was treated and released from the hospital.

Jones faces the following charges:

The victims are a 40-year-old man and his 10-year-old nephew.

The uncle'sinjuries are not life-threatening. The child is in very critical, but stable condition.

Both were outside when they were struck by the bullets.

Investigators believe the victims were not targeted and not involved.

Police are at the scene of a double shooting near 1424 15th St. South that occurred just after 7 p.m.

Two people, an adult man, and a young child suffered gunshot wounds.

Both have been transported to the hospital.
