Update | Fatal Electric Bicycle-Involved Traffic Crash in 4900 blk of 22nd Ave. N.

The operator of an electric bicycle who was struck and killed while attempting to cross 22nd Avenue North at 49th Street North has been identified as Edelina Rivas Fleitas of St. Peterburg.
She was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash.
The intersection of 22nd Avenue North and 49th Street North was closed for several hours during the investigation but has since reopened.
The investigation is ongoing.

Shortly after midnight, a traffic crash at the intersection of 22nd Avenue North and 49th Street North claimed the life of a bicyclist.
The identity of the bicyclist, an adult female, has not been released, pending notification of next of kin.
The driver of the vehicle that struck the e-bike remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation.
The investigation is ongoing. Updates will be released when additional information becomes available.
