Homicide Arrest

St. Petersburg Police Detectives arrested Daniel Coley, DOB 1-12-83, for the homicide of Amanda Browning, DOB 6-8-1984. Coley is charged with 2nd-degree murder. His booking photo is below.

Browning's body was found Saturday morning, September 14th, near a dumpster in the 3800 block of 15th Avenue North. She had visible stab/cut wounds.

The investigation and evidence led detectives to have probable cause to arrest her boyfriend, Coley. The two shared an apartment. Coley was booked into the Pinellas jail early this morning.

Detectives are investigating the suspicious death of an adult woman found near a dumpster in the 3800 block of 15th Ave. N.

A passerby discovered her body this morning shortly after 8 a.m. and called police.

The preliminary investigation shows there were signs of trauma, but the medical examiner will determine cause of death.
