Fatal Crash Arrest

Charles Williams IV (12/14/2001) was arrested and charged with Vehicular Homicide for the death of Corey Koeppen (11/11/1971).

At 10:02 a.m. today (09/11/2024) a silver Infinity sedan and a white Ford Ranger crashed on 1st Avenue South at 51st Street South. The crash caused both vehicles to leave the road, and one driver was ejected from his vehicle.

The driver of the Ford, who was ejected, died at the scene. The driver of the Infinity was transported to a local hospital, where he was listed in serious but stable condition.

No names are being released, pending notification of next of kin.

Eastbound lanes on 1st St. S. and northbound and southbound lanes on 51st St. S. were closed for more than 5 hours due to the investigation.

The investigation remains open and active.
