Shortly after 1:30 p.m. today, officers responded to the scene of a shooting at 1400 Farragut Dr. N.

A work crew was at the vacant house currently under remodel/construction, when a disagreement about payment occurred between the general contractor , Mostafa M. Ah Abdo (DOB 11/30/85) and a sub-contractor tile worker.

At the height of the argument, the tile worker started smashing completed tile work.

The general contractor , Mostafa Ah Abdo, went to his truck and retrieved a firearm. He returned with the firearm and threatened the tile worker.

The tile worker's father, Yamel P. Benitez (DOB 08/16/72) , who was also laying tile, pulled out his own firearm and shot Mostafa Ah Abdo to defend his son.

Mostafa Ah Abdo died from his injuries.

Investigators determined that this was justifiable self-defense of another and Benitez was not arrested.

Shortly after 1:30 p.m. today, officers responded to the scene of a shooting at 1400 Farragut Dr. N.

A work crew was at the vacant house currently under construction, when an altercation occurred between two men at the jobsite.

One man was shot and was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. He later died of his injuries.

Detectives are currently interviewing everyone who was present, including the shooter.

This is an ongoing investigation . Updates will be sent as information becomes available.

On arrival, they found an adult man who had been shot. He was transported to the hospital in extreme critical condition
