Serious Hit-and-Run Crash

Investigators need help identifying a car involved in a hit-and-run crash that left a man critically injured.

The video is below.

On Wednesday, May 29th, at 9:30 p.m., a pedestrian, 35-year-old Derick Gamble, of St. Petersburg) was crossing Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Street South in the 1900 block from west to east. Gamble was pushing a dolly with a stove, in a dimly lit area and not in a crosswalk.

An unknown dark-colored sedan was traveling southbound on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. St. S. in the median lane, approaching 20th Avenue South. The unknown vehicle struck Gamble with the front left corner and fled the scene southbound on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. St. S.

The vehicle is an older dark-colored sedan, possibly maroon, with damage to the left front corner (driver's side). It is missing the left front headlight.

Gamble was transported to Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
