At about 2 a.m., a motorcyclist, Brandon Christian Harwood Pagels (DOB 12/31/1991, Riverview) was traveling westbound in the 1900 block of 1st Avenue North at a high rate of speed, when he lost control of his motorcycle.

Pagels left the roadway and hit two street signs and a large tree. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

This is still an ongoing investigation.
