Stabbing Near School

Suspect Arrested: Jose Rafael Rabel Oneill (DOB 04/27/1990)

On 05/14/2024, a 28 year old man, and suspect Jose Oneill engaged in a road rage incident.

An argument began between them while they were both in their own vehicles next to each other on 54th Ave. N. while stopped at the light at 19th St. N.

Both got out and began a physical altercation. During this fight Oneill was armed with a knife and stabbed the victim numerous times.

The victim sought aid at the school. He is currently in serious but stable condition at Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital.

Oneill fled the scene but later contacted police.

Detectives charged Oneill with attempted homicide this evening.

At 3:07 p.m., a man arrived on the campus of Sexton Elementary School, 1997 54th Ave. N., to pick up a child and seek assistance for stab wounds.

Fire Rescue units were contacted to transport him to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Detectives are still investigating what happened. No arrest has been made.

All students and teachers are safe.

There was no school lockdown.
