Dejuan Williams, 39, (DOB 12/06/1984) of St. Petersburg and driver of a silver BMW 328xi sedan involving in a traffic crash in the 1000 block of 28th Street South June 6, 2024, has died of injuries suffered in the crash.

Shortly after 8:15 a.m. today, a gray Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck and a silver BMW 328xi sedan collided on 28th Street South at the northbound entrance to Interstate 275. Both drivers were transported to a local hospital, one in critical condition.
According to traffic homicide investigators, the Dodge pickup truck was attempting to make a left turn from southbound 28th Street South to travel onto the I-275 Northbound on-ramp. At the same time, the BMW, traveling north on 28th Street South, entered the paved median as it approached the intersection then attempted to re-enter the northbound travel lane just before the collision occurred.
After the initial impact, the BMW crashed into a concrete pillar under the interstate overpass.
The BMW driver, a 39-year-old man, was taken by ambulance to Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital with life threatening injuries. The 35-year-old driver of the Dodge pickup was transported in stable condition.
A portion of 28th Street South from 5th Avenue South to 11th Avenue South was shut down for more than three hours due to the crash and subsequent investigation. It reopened before noon.
The investigation remains open and active.
