At 8:20 p.m., Sunday, July 7, 2024, a large crowd was gathered outside the Catalyst Lounge, 903 22nd St. South.

Someone called the police to report shots were fired. A police officer nearby observed Dwight Williams, 10-24-78, drive by on 22nd St. S. and shoot multiple times into the air. The officer stopped him without incident. His booking photo is below.

No one was hurt, and as of this hour, we have not received any reports of a building or vehicle struck.

Williams was charged with:

• discharging a firearm within 1000 feet of a person
• using a firearm under the influence of alcoholic beverages
• driving under the influence
• possession of marijuana
