At about 7:15 p.m., Monday, January 15th, a driver struck a cruiser with its emergency lights activated and parked for traffic control at 18th Avenue South and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Street South.

The officer suffered minor injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment.

The driver was determined to be impaired and was taken into custody.

James Anderson, DOB 6/21/63, was charged with:

• DUI involving property damage
• Possession of a controlled substance, fentanyl
• Driving with license suspended or revoked
