At 1 p.m., Friday, January 12th, in the St. Petersburg Police Department Media Room, 1301 1st Avenue North, Chief of Police Anthony Holloway and Mayor Ken Welch will present approximately $96,000 of asset forfeiture funds to 35 community-based programs that seek to improve neighborhood safety, promote crime prevention and drug abuse prevention.

List of programs receiving funds
The money will go to a wide variety of community programs. The Chief is especially interested in assisting programs promoting positive behavior for children and teens.
Asset forfeiture funds come from the seizure of money/assets involved in criminal activity. It is administered by the St. Petersburg Police Department Legal Division, under the supervision of Legal Advisor Laura Roe.
