Hit and Run Fatal Pedestrian Crash

Reward Offered for Information in Hit and Run Fatal Pedestrian Crash

An $10,000 reward is now offered for information leading to an arrest in last Wednesday's fatal hit and run.

This weekend officers located the Cadillac SRX. We now know it is a 2013 Maroon/red SRX SUV. However investigators are still looking for additional information.

At 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday, January 3rd, the Cadillac SRX SUV struck 70 year old Karen Moorefield as she was crossing 22nd Avenue North near 41st St. It fled the scene.

If anyone saw the maroon/red Cadillac SRX the evening of the crash or has any information, please call St. Petersburg Police 727-893-7780.

Investigators are asking for the public's assistance in locating the vehicle that left the scene of a fatal crash at 22nd Avenue North and 41st Street North.

Investigators believe the vehicle is a 2013-2016 Cadillac SRX. The color is unknown at this time.

The vehicle has front-end damage. A picture of a car similar to the suspected vehicle is attached as a reference.

The victim has been identified as Karen Moorefield, DOB 10/30/53, of St. Petersburg.

At 6:45 p.m., a westbound vehicle struck her as she was walking across 22nd Avenue North near 41st Street. She died at the scene.

The vehicle then fled the area. Investigators believe the vehicle may have been a Cadillac SUV that now has front-end damage.

Shortly before 7p.m., a vehicle hit a pedestrian at 22nd Avenue North and 41st St.

The victim, an older woman, died at the scene.

Investigators believe the vehicle may have been a Cadillac SUV with front end damage.
