Shooting Investigation Involving a Teen

Accidental Shooting Involving a 12-Year-Old Boy

Just before 6:30 pm on December 23rd, officers responded to the James Park Apartments located at 1050 3rd Avenue North in reference to a person shot.

Upon arrival, officers located Jeremiah D. Nelson (03/02/2012) in the apartment with a gunshot wound. Nelson was transported to All Children's Hospital where he later died.

Detectives are trying to determine how the child obtained the gun. This is an ongoing investigation.

Detectives have determined that this was an accidental shooting involving a 12yo boy.

He is currently in critical condition at All Children's Hospital.

No additional information will be released at this time.

Officers are working a shooting involving a teen boy at the James Park Apartments located at 1050 3rd Avenue North. The call came in just before 6:30 pm

Upon arrival, officers located a teen boy with a gunshot wound. He was transported to Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital in critical condition.

This is very early in the investigation. Additional details will be released once they become available.
