The St. Petersburg Police Department will host the Florida Association of Police Explorers Quarterly Conference Friday to Sunday, Sept. 29 - Oct. 1.

We are expecting approximately 200 in attendance including Police Explorers, Advisors, and Instructors. There are 20 departments attending including: Pinellas Park, Tampa, Port St. Lucie, Tallahassee, and many more.

The Public Safety Cadets/Police Explorers program is a career focused mentoring program for teenagers and young adults who are between the ages of 14 and 21 and interested in a career in law enforcement.

Topics at the Quarterly Conference in St. Petersburg will include:

• Bicycle Operations
• PIO/Media Relations
• Internal Affairs Investigations
• Patrol Tactics
• Human Trafficking
• Legal

The cadets and explorers will also participate in a pistol competition. This part of the conference is not open to the public.
