Laundry Project Partners with Police

Today the Police Department partnered with Current Initiatives "Laundry Project" to provide three hours of free laundry.

Soapy Laundry, 3435 15th Avenue South, sponsored the event from 3-6pm today.

Officers helped folks with laundry baskets and loaded up washers.

Officers did approximately 634 loads of laundry and helped 37 families!

This community outreach event helps folks whose budgets are stretched thin during the holidays and it helps build positive relationships with police.

The St. Petersburg Police Department is partnering with Current Initiatives, a non-profit organization, to make sure St. Petersburg families have clean clothes in time for Thanksgiving.

Officers will be at Soapy's Laundry, 3435 15th Ave. S., from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. today, Nov. 21, 2023, with coins in hand to help the families.

The Laundry Project was launched by Current Initiatives as a way to assist families with an afternoon of free laundry and foster positive relationships with police officers.
