Homicide Arrest

Jimmy Lee Mathews, DOB 6-5-68, was booked into the Hillsborough County jail on a 2nd-degree murder charge for the death of Julius Moore. He will eventually be moved to the Pinellas County jail.

On Sunday, November 5th, St. Petersburg Officers responded to 1033 19th Avenue South after relatives found Moore, DOB 1-22-1949, deceased in his home from a gunshot wound.

Mathews was Moore's roommate.

On Sunday, November 5th, Officers responded to 1033 19th Avenue South after relatives found Julius Moore, DOB 1-22-1949, deceased in his home.

Late in the evening, after obtaining a warrant to enter the home, investigators were able to determine that Moore had been shot. An investigation is underway.
