Armed Barricaded Man -3 hour Stand-Off is Over

At this time the suspect is in critical condition, but he is expected to survive his injury.

We have activated the Pinellas County Use of Deadly Force Task Force. All additional details will be handled by the Pinellas County Sheriff PIO.

In 2020, the Pinellas County Use of Deadly Force Investigative Taskforce was created to ensure the investigations into law enforcement use of deadly force are thorough, complete, and objective, and conducted by an independent agency and not by the agency involved in the use of deadly force.

The suspect exchanged gunfire with officers at the scene. The suspect was struck and he is being treated at the hospital. The severity of his injuries are unknown.

Police were first called to the scene shortly before midnight. Multiple people inside the house were evacuated. No one else was injured.

Police are on the scene of a barricaded man.

He is armed in a boarding house.

Media should head to Central Avenue between 28th and 29th St. PIO is enroute.

Do not go south of Central for the safety of everyone.
