Crash into Building

Release posted on 07-16-23 at 11:10 a.m.

Driver: Deairis Bargman DOB 7-30-90

Charges:

About 4:30 AM today a vehicle was headed the wrong way on 15th Ave. S. in the 1800 block. An officer tried to do a traffic stop but the car took off and crashed into an apartment building at the 2400 block of 15th Avenue South. Photo of crash is attached.

The driver , Deairis Bargman , DOB 7-30-90, was injured and is hospitalized. His injuries are not considered life-threatening. A male adult passenger was seriously injured and is in stable condition at this time.

A man inside the apartment that the car struck, was also injured, treated and released.

Other residents in nearby apartments were relocated until the structural safety of the building can be determined.

There was also a minor gas main leak, but that was resolved quickly.

The investigation on the crash is ongoing.
