Crash Involving a Pedestrian

Delayed Fatal Crash Involving a Pedestrian

The victim, Joshua Workman (DOB 01/06/1982), was pronounced dead at Bayfront Health due to the injuries he suffered from the crash. The next of kin has been notified.

On February 1, 2023, at 7:17 a.m., a gray Chevrolet Malibu was traveling southbound in the curb lane within the 1800-BLK of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Street South. A pedestrian was walking on the west sidewalk in the 1800-BLK of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr St South when he stepped off from the sidewalk and into the roadway where he was then struck by the Chevrolet Malibu.

The driver was not injured, stayed on the scene, and is cooperating with the investigation.

The investigation is still ongoing. No further details are available at this time.

A gray Chevrolet Malibu was traveling southbound in the curb lane within the 1800-BLK of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Street South. A pedestrian was walking on the west sidewalk in the 1800-BLK of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr St South when he stepped off from the sidewalk and into the roadway where he was then struck by the Chevrolet Malibu.

The victim, a 41-year-old man, was transported to Bayfront Health and is in critical condition.

The driver was not injured, stayed on the scene, and is cooperating with the investigation.

The investigation is still on going. No further details are available at this time.

A man was hit by a car at 18th Avenue South and Dr. MLK St. S. at 7:17 a.m. He is in critical condition.

The driver remained at the scene.

Dr. MLK St. S will remain closed from 18 Ave S. to 19 Ave S. for several hours for the investigation.
