Officer Involved Shooting Investigation

Release posted on 08-30-23 at 10:34 p.m.

An officer involved shooting occurred at 9:30 PM in an alley near the 1500 block of 27th St. South. No one was injured. Two suspects were taken into custody.

The Pinellas County Use of Deadly Force will conduct the investigation. All inquiries will be handled by the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office Public Information Officers

Media planning to cover the scene should go to the staging area in the 1400 block of 27th St. S., just north of 15th Ave. S.

In 2020, the Pinellas County Use of Deadly Force Investigative Taskforce was created to ensure the investigations conducted into law enforcement use of deadly force are thorough, complete, and objective. The purpose of this taskforce is to make sure that officer-involved shootings in Pinellas County are investigated by an independent agency and not by the agency involved in the use of deadly force.
