At 11:30 am on November 5th, 2022, St. Petersburg Police responded to a call to check welfare of a woman at 5055 3rd Avenue South.

Once inside the home, they located the deceased body of Harriet Owens (12/4/1961). Jontrell Collins was also located inside of the home, he was later arrested and charged with murder in the second degree.

Update: Suspicious death is now being investigated as a homicide

Victim: Harriet Owens DOB 12-4-61

Suspect is in custody:
Jontrell Collins DOB 12-18-92 ( son of the victim)

The son was living at the home with the victim.

This is an ongoing investigation.

St. Petersburg Police responded to a call to check on the welfare of a woman at 5055 3rd Ave. S. at 11:30 a.m. They located her, deceased in the home.

One person is in custody and is being questioned at this time.
