About 9:35 p.m. today, May 21, 2022, we received a call about shots fired at the Childs Park Recreation and Fitness Center, 4301 13th Ave. S. An officer on patrol nearby saw several juveniles run from the area.

When the officer arrived on scene, a 12-year-old girl had been struck by a bullet in the leg. She was treated for a non-life threatening injury.

No suspect has been arrested. This is an active investigation.
