On Saturday, May 14, shortly before 2p.m., a gray 2010 Nissan Rouge was driving eastbound on 22nd Avenue South. A 56 year old woman on a bicycle was crossing 22nd Ave. North at the Pinellas Trail from north to south. She entered the roadway and crashed into the front passenger side fender of the Rogue as it passed by.

The bicyclist was transported to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg where she is being treated for life threatening injuries. Next of kin has not been located so her name will not be released at this time.

The Nissan driver stayed on scene and cooperated with the investigation.
