At 8:47 a.m. today (03/21/22), a brown Nissan Sentra headed east in the 500 block of 1st Avenue South struck a 76-year-old woman as she crossed the street.
Traffic investigators said the pedestrian, identified as Anne Gould (DOB 03/24/1945) of St. Petersburg, was walking south to north across 1st Ave. S. when the incident occurred. She died on site.
The driver, who remained at the scene, is cooperating with investigators.
It is an ongoing investigation.

All lanes on 1st Avenue South from 5th Street to 7th Street South have reopened following a fatal pedestrian involved traffic crash investigation.
