The child has been identified as Julian Ali, DOB 10-12-12. His next of kin has been notified.

At 5 p.m., police officers responded to call about a child with a gunshot wound in an apartment at the Reserve at Lynn Lake Point, on Lynn Lake Circle S.

Officers confirmed a boy, under the age of 12, died at the scene from a gunshot. It is very early in the investigation, but preliminary indications are that the shooting was accidental.

There was an adult and three teens also in the apartment at the time. Investigators are working to determine who owned the gun.

This is an ongoing investigation and no other details will be released at this time.
