Today, Tuesday, April 26, the St. Petersburg Police Dept. will be conducting a special traffic operation to crack down on speeding. Officers will be concentrating on the west side of the city, primarily the Tyrone area, starting at 7 a.m. and continuing throughout the day.

Sgt. Michael Schade will be available to speak to interested media about this special operation at 10 a.m., in the parking lot on the northwest corner of 38th Avenue North and 66th Street. This intersection has been the number one intersection in the city for crashes so far this year, with 7 in January, 17 in February, and 22 in March. (April hasn't been totaled yet.)
