Through investigative techniques, St. Petersburg detectives were able to identify a person of interest in the two recent homicides in St. Petersburg of Vernon Williams and Corlenzo Williams.

Working with Tampa Police Department and the FBI, we were able to take him into custody yesterday evening. He is currently being held in Hillsborough County on charges unrelated to the St. Petersburg shootings.

This is still an active investigation and no other details will be released at this time.
