Officer Charged with DUI

Shortly after 3:15 a.m., on Monday, November 22, the Hillsborough Sheriff's Office arrested St.Petersburg Police Officer Cody Csendom for driving under the influence with property damage. At the time, Csendom was off-duty and driving his personal vehicle eastbound on Big Bend Rd, in Riverview, when he left the roadway and struck several TECO power poles. He was not injured.

Officer Csendom was removed from his patrol duties and placed on administrative duty until his criminal charge is resolved in court. After the criminal charge is resolved, then the St. Petersburg Police Office of Professional Standards (internal affairs) will conduct an internal investigation to determine potential disciplinary consequences.

Officer Csendom was sworn as a St. Petersburg Police officer on March 6, 2017.He is 26 years old and is assigned to the K9 unit.
