Alvera B. Minutello (DOB 07/30/1944) of St. Petersburg, who was critically injured in a recent electric scooter vs. bicycle collision on 18th Avenue near 66Th Street North, has died at a local hospital.

Today, 11/09/21, SPPD traffic investigators arrested Tyler Andrew Brady (DOB 04/28/1999) on a charge of manslaughter via culpable negligence. Brady will be booked into the Pinellas County Jail.

The incident occurred at 12:10 p.m. Thursday, 11/04/21, when Minutello was pedaling her bicycle westbound on 18th Ave. N. approaching 66th Street North. At the same time, an electric scooter operated by Brady was heading eastbound on 18th Avenue, crossing the intersection at 66th Street North.

The scooter and bicycle collided head on just east of the intersection.

Investigators said the scooter failed to swerve out of the way despite the majority of the eastbound lane on 18th Avenue North being open and unobstructed.
