Jabari Kalonji is charged with attempted first degree murder. His booking photo is still being processed and not available yet. Attached is a booking photo from a prior arrest in January 2021.

The victim is in critical, but stable condition.

The suspect's name is Jabari Kalonji, DOB 5-4-94. He is in custody and charges are pending.

The victim, his mother, Pamela Yerby-Cole, DOB 1-18-68, suffered very serious injuries and is hospitalized.

At 8:50 a.m., police responded to a stabbing at a home at 2330 49th Street South. A 53- year- old woman was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Her adult son is in police custody. It is very early in the investigation. We will send out an update with more information as it becomes available.
