Two Overnight Shootings into Homes with Victims

Release posted on 05-20-21 at 9:24 a.m.

We had two separate shootings into homes and striking victims overnight. It is very early in the investigations and we are still trying to determine whether they are related. However, preliminary information suggests there is no link between the cases.

Detectives are actively working these cases and urge anyone with information to call St. Petersburg Police 727-893-7711 or text SPPD plus your tip, to TIP411.

  1. At 12:30 a.m., in a home in the 2300 block of 7th Street South, an 11-year-old boy woke up when a bullet injured his foot. His injuries are non-life threatening. It appears someone fired shots somewhere outside the house and a stray bullet came inside the house and struck him. Report 2021-018780
