The victim in Monday's crash has been identified as David Ivan Johnson (DOB 10/03/1968, transient).

At 1:30 p.m., a 2008 Subaru, driven by Olga Yuryevna Davis (DOB 08/23/1977, of St Pete) was southbound on 4th Street North at a high rate of speed, weaving across the three southbound lanes.

In the 9000 block, Davis lost control of the vehicle and began sliding, rotating clockwise. An unidentified man, who was walking south on the west sidewalk of 4th Street, was struck as the Subaru left the roadway and ran into a building at 8934 4th Street North. When the pedestrian was extricated from under the vehicle, he was pronounced deceased on scene.

Davis was transported to Bayfront Health St Petersburg. Although the investigation is continuing, when Davis was released from the hospital, she was arrested for DUI Manslaughter, Vehicular Homicide and DUI Property Damage and taken to the Pinellas County Jail.

We are still attempting to identify the pedestrian.

Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian crash that happened at 1:33 p.m. near 8934 4th Street North.

A southbound Subaru Impreza struck a pedestrian (adult man) then ran off the roadway and struck an office building on the west side of the road.

The pedestrian died at the scene. The driver of the Subaru, (woman) was transported to the hospital.

It is early in the investigation, but impairment may have been a factor in the crash. The investigation is underway.

All southbound lanes of 4th street N, between 89th Avenue and 91st Avenue North are closed to traffic for the next few hours.
