Arrest Involving June 2021 Fatal Crash
A SPPD Traffic Section investigation concluded today, Feb. 18, with the arrest of Kardell Bernard Brown (DOB 10/17/2004) for a fatal traffic crash on June 20, 2021.
Brown was driving a 2013 Infinity at a high rate of speed and in a reckless manner with four teenagers inside headed northbound on 34th Street South when a 2012 Toyota driven Mary E. Rohan entered the path of the Infinity and they crashed. Rohan was pronounced dead on scene. All five teens survived.
Now Brown faces charges of vehicular homicide and operating a motor vehicle without a driver's license, causing death.

The teens ran to a nearby shopping center parking lot after the traffic crash. The Infinity was not stolen.

Around 2:30pm today, a 2012 Toyota driven by St. Petersburg resident Mary E. Rohan (03/20/1937) was traveling westbound on 30th Ave South and attempting to turn left onto 34th Street South. A 2013 Infinity with five teenagers inside was going northbound on 34th Street South when the Toyota pulled into the path of the Infinity and they crashed.
The teens inside the Infinity exited the vehicle and ran. Rohan (the driver of the Toyota) was pronounced dead at the scene.
Everyone riding in the Infinity was identified, but investigators are asking anyone who saw the crash or its aftermath to call the St. Petersburg Police Department at 727-893-7780.
