Today, Carlos McNair (DOB 1/29/2005) turned himself in to police after investigators found him to be responsible for the shooting death of his uncle Anthony Link (DOB 08/20/1983).
On Tuesday, July 20, 2021 both were at a family gathering in 2500 block of 16th Ave. S. Shortly after an altercation Link left the gathering, got in his car and was leaving when McNair opened fire.
Link managed to leave the scene of the shooting but, crashed a short distance away. Investigators established probable cause to charge McNair with Second-Degree murder. The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are possible.

The SPPD Emergency Communications Center received a call around 11:53pm on July 20, 2021 reporting a crashed white Mercedes in the 1500 block of 26th St S.
Police responded and found Anthony Link (DOB 08/20/1983) deceased inside his car. Detectives believe he was shot.

SPPD is investigating a suspicious death near the intersection of 15th Ave S and 26th St.
A man was found deceased inside a vehicle on a nearby alley. At this time this is all the information we have, but updates will be released as they become available.
