Sandbags Available in St.Petersburg

Release updated on July 7 at 07:06 a.m.

The City of St. Petersburg deactivated its Emergency Operations Center at 7 a.m. today, July 7.

Public Safety and City personnel monitored Hurricane Elsa throughout the night and, fortunately, the city received no major impacts. Damage assessment, for both public and private property, will take place as needed, but preliminary assessments do not show any widespread damage or debris at this time. No roads are closed.

There is still a chance for some surge to build in Tampa Bay through the next high tide cycle at noon and cause flooding in low-lying neighborhoods. We will continue to monitor conditions and are standing by if needed to respond and support ground operations.
