Update on 01-15-21 at 6:12 a.m

The victim has been identified as Matthew Reda (DOB 05/04/1990).

Detectives are still investigating the shooting, but preliminary indications are that the Matthew Reda and his father, Jeffrey Paul Reda (DOB 08/03/1958) were involved in an altercation which resulted in Matthew being fatally shot.

Jeffrey Reda has been cooperative and remains in custody, as the investigation continues.

SPPD is investigating a shooting death at 541 15th St. N after receiving a call concerning a person shot at 1:38am.

Police arrived and found one adult man deceased. No one has been arrested but detectives are speaking with witnesses.

At this time there is no indication that the public is at risk.

The investigation into the shooting is underway and more information will be released as it becomes available.
