Child Abuse Arrest

Update on 03-01-21 at 3:35 p.m.

Five-year-old Cynthia Green (DOB 10/25/2015) succumbed to her injuries this weekend after she was found unconscious inside her home on February 22, 2021.

Her father William Green (DOB 11/21/1988), is now facing additional felony charges of 1st Degree Murder and Neglect of a Child (Great Bodily Harm).

The investigation is ongoing, and additional/revised charges may be filed at a later time.


Update on 02-23-21 at 10:31 a.m.

The child remains in critical, but stable, condition.


Released on 02-22-21 at 4:09 p.m.

At 1:44 a.m., Monday, February 22, police officers were called to a house to assist Fire & Rescue on a call for a five- year- old girl with a head injury.

Doctors later determined that the child had severe head trauma and fresh injuries to her body. She also had scarring all over her body to include bite marks. The child had surgery and is now in stable condition.

Police arrested William Green, DOB 11/21/1988, for two counts of aggravated child abuse with great bodily harm. Green's booking photo is attached.

Green was the only adult caregiver in the home during the time the child was injured and there were no other children in the house.

The location of the crime and the relationship of the victim to the suspect are confidential under F.S. 119.
